Who are the main characters in the novel? Do you like them? Why or why not? What is special about them? What do they reveal about the universal human experience?
The main characters in the novel are Jack, Ralph, Piggi and Simon. Piggi and Simon are the kids who follow Ralph, so the most important characters would be Jack and Ralph who are against each other in the story. Most people would think that Jack is bad and wrong because he killed other boy and broke the rule, but his decision could be better than Ralph's decision that vest on authority in a turban shell and hold a meeting when they are faced with a situation that endanger their life. Ralph's formal rule isn't essential for them, but Jack is realistic and knows what is important for them, surviving in the island. Also, the rule he made that if someone touch other's things, they would get punished by whipping. This is much more realistic than the rule made by Ralph that gives black marks to the person break the rule. So I like Jack more than Ralph in the novel.
